To begin I find music to be a big influence on our children today, but only if its the age appropriate and it has a meaningful educational view. To answer your first questioned I do remember music and drama in my youth. We learned how to use the recorders to play nursery rhymes songs, and drama was an outlet to be yourself. I do think that do to budget cuts that children are limited to this activities. As a parent I work closely with my six year old to instill the most positive influence on the arts as possible, because I do feel that its a since of freedom.
